GolfLink – Member Information

Thaxted Park Golf Club is now on GolfLink. This means that Members can enjoy the benefits of GolfLink such as:

- a GolfLink card to introduce you to other participating Clubs

- transportability of your handicap

- automatic return of scores played at other clubs

Your GolfLink card can be collected from the ProShop.

We still retain the benefits of our own system, including:

- printing of cards for competitions

- scores and handicap changes available soon after the completion of competitions

Member's handicaps are now kept on GolfLink. You can see them by following this link - www.golflink.com.au.

You will need your GolfLink number, which is printed on your GolfLink card. If you have not picked up your GolfLink card yet, your number is the Club's GolfLink number (50208) followed by another 5 digits, which is your badge number for most Members, so if your badge number if 1234, then your GolfLink number will be 5020801234. Some Members who joined after we transferred our initial data to Golflink on 29/4/2009 will have numbers allocated by GolfLink and these may differ from our badge numbers - we have no control over this.

Following our initial transfer of data to GolfLink, the Club received a number of cards where Members had played at other clubs on dates prior to 29/4/2009. GolfLink does not allow these cards to be added to GolfLink prior to the date of the Members handicap being established on GolfLink, so we had to enter some ‘fictitious’ competitions so that Member’s handicaps were adjusted to the correct values in GolfLink – so if you are one of these Members, don’t worry about any scores around the start of May, your handicaps on GolfLink are correct (and have been verified).

Since sending the information to GolfLink, we have been changing our systems to update GolfLink with information about our competitions and Members in a timely and efficient (and cost effective) manner. We have finished testing these changes and the system is now ready for implementation.

The Committee has resolved that ALL Members must carry their GolfLink cards when they play at Thaxted. This will make it much easier if we find someone who is not a Member and playing on the course when they shouldn’t be.

This page will disappear about the start of September, and the links from the menu for Member's Handicaps will take you straight to GolfLink.
